​Karen draws her inspiration from the beauty in nature and her faith in God.

Working primarily in watercolors, Karen paints a variety of subjects, from landscapes to birds to religious art. She also works on commission to create beautiful House Portraits and Pet Portraits.
Recently Karen completed the illustrations for a new children's book, "Look with Your Spirit" by RJ Brandell, available on Amazon, and Barnes and Nobel.
Additionally, Karen has illustrated two book covers for Shirley Amendt's works,  "Come, Follow Me", and "His Mighty Hand."

Watercolors are by far Karen's favorite medium to work in. She loves it's translucent qualities which enhance a sense of light, reflecting the brightness and beauty of creation.
Karen also likes working with acrylic paints and enjoys teaching adults painting with her own "Paint and Wine Retreats",  as well as teaching watercolor workshops at the local senior center. Additionally she enjoys working with young people as a fine arts teacher with a Homeschooling group in the area. 
Karen does paint in oils occasionally and enjoys them as well. In addition to traditional mediums, Karen has worked in digital, through Procreate and Photoshop programs.
